Overview

The exhibition titled Through the Glass was a project by AGC Inc. and Tokyo University of the Arts. Furukawa worked on collaborative research with graduate students at Tokyo University of the Arts (Research groups under Prof. Hirotoshi Sakaguchi and Prof. Toyomi Hoshina) to create new values and new art through state-of-the-art glass technology. Furukawa used decalcomania with fluororesin film and oil paints. She used a 3D printer to replicate a lachrymatory (known as an ancient “tear bottle”) using highly permeable glass resin, to give shape to sorrow, an intangible emotion.
