Bibliography

Naoko Usuki

(Independent Curator), from March 2004 Issue of Bijutsu Techo

“Yumiko Furukawa’s work invites you to play along in the association game: the worlds of Haruki Murakami, Franz Kafka, and Italo Calvino are visualized through her filter and become embodied translations.

With the help of Furukawa and her work, which takes even the idea of dissonance and effortlessly materializes it, the viewer embarks on a new journey into the worlds of these writers.”

Bibliography

Hiroshi Senju

(Artist), from December 2014 Issue of ‘Art Collectors’

“Another work embodies the sea along the coast of Fukushima, which was hardened and sealed off with polyester. It contains something that our eyes can’t see.

Founded on the anger and despair of nothing being solved, Furukawa’s works continue to give silent screams.”
