Yumiko Furukawa  born in 1975 in Fukushima

Yumiko Furukawa is Japanese painter and sculptor, received her Ph.D. of Philosophy of Arts in, majoring in Fine Art and Oil Painting, from the Tokyo National University of the Arts in 2006. Her work has been shown in galleries, museums and various art events domestically and internationally, including Fukushima Prefectural Museum of Art, Fukushima in 2014; hpgrp Gallery, NY in 2013;  ISE Cultural Foundation, NY in 2009; Tinbox Contemporary Art Gallery, Bordeaux, France in 2007; Gallery Side 2, Tokyo in 2006; Setouchi Art Triennale in 2012 and Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennial in 2003. Furukawa has received  fellowships including Agency for Cultural Affairs, Japanese Government Overseas Study Program for Artists in 2007; Asian Cultural Council in 2005; Kao Foundation in 2001. She participated in a residency program at Shodoshima Artist in Residence in 2012; International Strudio and Curatorial Program (ISCP) in 2007, NY; Location One, NY in 2005. She currently lives and works in Tokyo.  (2015)

 

 

古川弓子   1975年福島生まれ

東京藝術大学大学院博士後期課程美術研究科美術専攻修了(2006年)、主な展覧会に、個展『灰かぶり』OZASAHAYASHI Kyoto(2015年)、『白昼夢』Gallery Side 2 (2006年)、『星の王子様』Tinbox Contemporary Art Gallery フランス(2007年)、『QUOTATION』ISE Cultural Foundation ニューヨーク(2009年)、『Spuyten Duyvil』hpgrp Gallery ニューヨーク(2013年)、『COLLECTION COOKING』福島県立美術館 (2014年)。また『大地の芸術祭 越後妻有アートトリエンナーレ2003』、『瀬戸内国際芸術祭2013』ほか国内海外ともに多数のグループ展や芸術祭に参加。2005年にAsian Cultural Council(ACC)、また2007年から2009年は文化庁、新進芸術家海外留学制度の奨学生として渡米し、Location One とInternational Studio Curatorial Program(ISCP)に滞在する。
